It was found to inhibit the metastasis of prostate cancer to the lungs by as much as 96%, or at least this is true for mice in conditions close to those of humans. Raymond Bergan hopes to prove that this is true for his patients as well. For now, it is ready with the preclinical stage of the trial.

In fact, he explains, genistein is a substance that inhibits the release of cancer cells from the primary process by blocking the enzyme p38 MAP kinase. However, it does not affect the size of the tumor.
