The diet consumed in Spain is a variant of the Mediterranean diet, which is close to what is considered an ideal regimen for cardiovascular protection and for the treatment of obesity.

 

The first level

Here are the foods that should be the basis of your daily diet. These are cereals and their wholemeal or refined derivatives: bread, cereals, potatoes, pasta, rice.

This group has mainly an energy function. 4-6 servings per day are recommended.

 

Second level

Fats and pastries. It is recommended to reduce the consumption of animal fats. Olive oil is recommended for cooking.

Sweets have a high caloric intake compared to the nutritional value.
