Lemon juice prevents the appearance of repulsive browning on already chopped fruits and vegetables. A few drops of lemon work wonders with avocados, apples, bananas and peeled raw potatoes. This is because citrus is acidic enough to prevent oxidation, blaming the unpleasant brown color of vegetables and fruits.
What novice in the kitchen hasn't cooked chunks of rice? And did you know that adding a few drops of lemon juice to the water in which the rice boils helps prevent the rice from sticking together? Try it.
