Fresh potatoes have a more delicate taste than old ones. They are rich in bioflavonoids, vitamins and minerals. They contain the strongest antioxidants that preserve youth and health for longer.
Potatoes are valuable and useful vegetables that are often present on the table not only in our country but all over the world. They have wonderful taste and nutritional characteristics.
Fresh potatoes are usually preferred over old ones because they taste delicate. The only drawback is that the product is seasonal, and this season is not long at all.
Fresh potatoes, like all young vegetables, are rich in bioflavonoids. They contain vitamins A, B1, B2, B5, B6, C, E, K, niacin, choline, folic acid. The product contains three times more vitamin C than potatoes that "survived" the winter. Heat treatment destroys the vitamin, so there is no trace of it in last year's french fries.
In young tubers there are few simple sugars, virtually no fat, and cholesterol is completely absent. On the other hand, they contain organic acids and cellulose, which are useful for digestion. Like eggs, natural yogurt and cottage cheese, fresh potatoes are a good source of protein. In addition, the product contains minerals such as potassium, calcium, magnesium, sodium, phosphorus, iodine and sulfur.
Fresh potatoes contain the strongest antioxidants. They preserve youth and health for a longer time, prevent the development of tumors, protect blood vessels and strengthen cell walls.
Potassium, which is part of vegetables, helps to remove excess fluid from the body, which makes it useful for people prone to edema.
Potato juice is recommended in the treatment of people suffering from gastrointestinal and skin diseases, such as burns, scratches and cuts, as it has wound healing properties.
In case of burns, the potatoes are grated, wrapped in two layers of sterile gauze and applied to the affected area. The bandage is replaced with a new one after it dries.
Thanks to its set of vitamins and minerals, vegetables are ideal for those who strive to adhere to a balanced diet.
In addition to everything said so far, young tubers are low in calories, so they can be included in diets.
Small young vegetables are delicious when steamed whole. Potatoes with a yellow inside have a creamy texture and they make a perfect puree.
Fresh potatoes have a delicate thin skin that does not peel like the old ones, but is only scraped with a sharp knife.
