What To Do With The Leftovers Of A Festive Meal: Recipes From Ready-made Products

Everyone loves the holidays, because on the holidays you can enjoy yummy. Each hostess prepares many delicious dishes to please the family and guests. But often the tastiest is eaten first, and cuts from sausage, cheese, and vegetables often remain on the plates. The question arises: “Where to put it all, and what to do with it, because it’s a pity to throw it away?”.

Let's see what can be made from the leftovers of the holiday dinner.

Chicken and sausage solyanka

We offer to cook a hodgepodge from the remains of a baked chicken with sausage. After a hearty dinner, hot soup will be the best gift for the stomach.

So, we need:

boiled or baked chicken - 300 g, sausage and smoked meats - 350 g, onion - 1-2 pieces, carrots - 1 piece, garlic - 1-3 teeth, vegetable oil - 2 tbsp. l., salt and spices - to taste (pepper, paprika, bay leaf, etc.), pickled or pickled cucumbers - 2-4 pcs., tomato paste - 2 tbsp. l., olives, lemon, sour cream - to taste (for serving).

Cut the chicken and sausage into thin strips and fry in a pan, after 3 minutes add finely chopped onion and fry until golden brown. Put the roast in a saucepan, fill everything with water or broth, about 2 liters, add tomato paste. Boil for 10 minutes, add finely chopped cucumbers. Cook for another 10 minutes, salt, add spices and parsley. Let stand for 15 minutes and serve.

Potato casserole

A casserole can be made from just about anything. We suggest cooking a potato casserole with vegetables.

Ingredients:

mashed potatoes - 500-700 g, Korean-style carrots - 100 g, onion - 1 pc., Bulgarian pepper - 1 pc., tomato - 1 pc., cream 10% - 100 ml, salt - 1 tsp. , ground black pepper - 1-2 pinches (to taste), fresh herbs - 20 g, vegetable oil - 2-3 tbsp. l., egg - 1 pc., wheat flour - 2-3 tbsp. l.

Finely chop the onion and fry in a pan along with Korean-style carrots, chopped peppers and tomatoes for about 5 minutes. Salt, pepper, and then pour in the cream and simmer until they begin to thicken. Add flour and egg to the puree, mix well. Put the mashed potatoes on the bottom of a deep form, put the vegetables on top, cover with mashed potatoes on top. You can sprinkle cheese on top if desired and bake in the oven until a beautiful crust for 20-25 minutes at 180 degrees.

Burito

Another interesting dish that can be prepared from the leftovers of a festive dinner in just 10 minutes is burrito. A beautifully named Mexican dish is essentially a thin tortilla with a filling, and you can wrap anything in it.

For burrito, we need products in the following proportions:

tortillas - 3-4 pcs., any meat - 500 g, bell peppers - 1 pc., tomatoes - 2 pcs., onions - 2 pcs., garlic - 2 cloves, tomato sauce - 150 g, vegetable oil - 2 tbsp. l., salt - a pinch of pepper - a pinch of leaf lettuce - 1 bunch.

Cut all the ingredients into a cube, heat in a pan for a couple of minutes, adding a little vegetable oil. Brush each tortilla with the sauce, place a few tablespoons of filling in the center and wrap. Everything is ready.

fish cakes

When you just fry the fish, it is insanely tasty, but if it lies down, though, it’s not the same. We offer an interesting recipe for fish cakes from fried fish.

Ingredients:

fried fish, fillet - 500 g, breadcrumbs - 250 g, chicken egg - 2 pcs., dried garlic - 1 tsp, lemon zest - 1 tbsp. l., soy sauce - 1 tbsp. l., salt and black pepper - 1 tsp., greens - a bunch.

Mash the fillet with a fork until smooth, add eggs and spices, as well as chopped greens.

Mix everything into a homogeneous minced meat, then form patties and roll in breadcrumbs. Cutlets can be fried in a pan until golden brown or baked in the oven. And so, and so it turns out very tasty. Bon appetit!
