As of today, the Na Baba brand has launched a new product, Bulgarian yoghurt, produced in accordance with the requirements of the BDS 12: 2010 standard. The product is in original beige packaging with the BDS sign on it.
                                        
  

 

Basic requirements of the Bulgarian Standard 12: 2010 for yogurt:

  • Taste: The standard requires products to have a more sour taste, with strict control over the acidity of the finished product.
  • Labeling: The product is marked on the package with the name "BULGARIAN YOGHOURT BDS 12: 2010" and the corresponding logo of BDS.
  • Authenticity: Yogurt must be produced with Bulgarian sourdough containing strains of Lactobacillus bulgaricus and Streptococcus thermophilus, which must be isolated and produced in Bulgaria and not subject to genetic modification.
  • Characteristic features: The yoghurt must be white in color, with a smooth, shiny surface and a homogeneous, creamy consistency.
  • Durability: At a storage temperature of 2 to 6 degrees Bulgarian yogurt has a shelf life of up to 20 days from the date of production.

 

 

 

Which yogurts have the right to wear the BDS logo?
Producers acquire the right to put the BDS logo on the packaging of their products only after an approval procedure by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food and the Patent Office. The technological process and the measurement of indicators such as acidity, fat content, microbiological indicators, etc., as well as the control over them must be carried out systematically and documented.
