Food poisoning is dangerous and can even be life-threatening. Although it is difficult to predict which foods are safe to eat, it is helpful to know which ones pose a potential risk.

Eggs 

One of the favorite snacks for many people is associated with at least 138 outbreaks of infections since 1998, most often due to the salmonella bacterium . The bacteria can "hide" in the egg , so proper cooking is a key moment to kill germs
 
Avoid consuming products that contain raw eggs and always store eggs in the refrigerator. 
 

Meat 

It can also lead to various diseases caused by bacteria. In 2013, there was even a suspicion of Escherichia coli- infected beef in the United States being withdrawn from the market. 
 
Raw foods of animal origin are more likely to be contaminated, experts warn. It is important that all of them undergo adequate heat treatment. Clean all surfaces that the meat has come in contact with to prevent possible contamination. 
 
 

Tuna


This type of fish can be infected with scombrotoxin, which causes flushing, headaches and cramps  
If stored at a temperature higher than 15 o C after being caught, fresh fish may release a toxin which cannot be destroyed during cooking. 
 
Experts explain that with regard to tuna , as well as other types of fish, it is most important that they are fresh. In addition, seafood must be stored at an appropriate temperature from the moment it is removed from the water.
