Anyone can experience diarrhea. And therefore it is necessary to know how to help your body cope with this problem.

Whenever diarrhea strikes, and for whatever reason, it disrupts our plans for the day every time, and repeatedly. Of course, in order not to harm oneself, first of all, it is necessary to establish the reason for which such a disorder occurred, and to take adequate treatment. But in any case, you will also have to switch to a special diet, which will help to quickly restore the water-salt balance and normalize the work of the intestines.

Diarrhea is not an independent disease, but a symptom that is provoked by many reasons. Usually, the causes of diarrhea are revealed quite quickly. This disorder is often accompanied by vomiting, abdominal cramps and/or high fever. For adults, diarrhea is not as dangerous as for children and the elderly. In these at-risk groups, diarrhea can cause dehydration, which can lead to serious unwanted consequences.

"Diarrhea in children is dangerous because fluid and electrolytes are lost very quickly, and dehydration occurs. As a result of rapid dehydration, all body functions are disrupted. It is necessary to follow all points of treatment prescribed by the doctor. First of all, treatment is aimed at eliminating the problem of dehydration. And the second, very important stage is diet therapy," says Halyna Makarenko, a pediatrician.

  • Liver disease
  • Dysbacteriosis
  • Infectious diseases caused by bacteria, viruses and protozoa
  • Overdose with laxatives
