There is no benefit from a variety of flavors. They can only increase the consumption of the food and beverages in which they are used. Sweetener manufacturers categorically deny the allegations.
What is the situation with sweeteners in Bulgaria? Sweeteners approved for use in the preparation of food and beverages in Bulgaria are regulated by a special regulation on the requirements for the use of food additives. The ordinance determines which are the allowed sweeteners and their maximum concentrations. For aspartame (E951) the maximum amount is 600 mg / l for soft drinks.
One of the reasons why the national drink of Bulgaria - boza can not sour for weeks is the use of low quality sweeteners. Most boza brands do not contain sugar, but a mixture of sweeteners. Very often breastfeeding women drink boza to increase breast milk.
Expert advice is to avoid brands that contain sweeteners. They can adversely affect the normal development of the baby's organs, and the damage may not occur immediately, but after months, even years.
