Required products :

175 grams of butter

175 grams of sugar

2 eggs

225 grams of flour

1.5 teaspoon leavening agent

2 teaspoons of spices of your choice (for example, a mix of cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and vanilla)

200 grams of apples (peeled and cleaned of seeds)

3-4 whole small apples

peel of 1 orange

3 tablespoons apple juice

almond leaves

Method of preparation :

Beat the softened butter and sugar until white, then add the eggs one by one, adding 1 tablespoon of flour with each and beat well. Pour the remaining flour to which you have added the leavening agent and spices.

Cut the peeled and peeled apples into 1 x 1 cm cubes, add the grated orange peel and apple juice. Add the resulting mixture to the dough, which you pour into a suitable form and level the surface.

Do not peel the small whole apples, but only cut them into 4 parts and clean them from the core with the seeds. Make 3-4 shallow incisions with a knife on the outside. Arrange the slices on the surface of the dough, pressing them lightly into it. Sprinkle with almond leaves (you can use walnuts if you prefer).

Bake in the oven at 180 degrees for about an hour. Check readiness with a toothpick. Remove the finished pie from the pan when it cools.
