Required products :

  • 150 grams of candied fruit
  • 150 milliliters of rum
  • 2 grams of grated nutmeg
  • 150 grams of raisins
  • 150 grams of almonds
  • 300 milliliters of fresh milk
  • 10 grams of fresh yeast
  • 500 grams of flour
  • 150 grams of butter + a little more to spread
  • 8 grams of salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 grams of ground ginger
  • peel of 2 lemons
  • 2 grams of vanilla
  • 150 grams of sugar
  • 150 grams of milk chocolate
  • caramelized fruits
  • nuts


Method of preparation :

Mix the candied fruit with rum and raisins, add the almonds, nutmeg and leave the combination for 12 hours.

Then mix 200 milliliters of milk with 2 tablespoons of sugar and yeast, wait an hour. Then add the flour and the remaining milk, butter, salt, eggs, remaining sugar, vanilla, ginger and citrus peels.

Knead the dough in which you pour the fruits and nuts soaked in rum. Mix well and leave the homogeneous mass to stand for two hours.

Then form bread from it, cover it with cling film and place in a warm place for two hours.

It's time to bake. The oven temperature should be medium, ie. 180 degrees, and the required time is between 40 and 60 minutes.

Grease the finished bread with butter while it is still hot.

Melt the milk chocolate in a water bath and cover the cooled bread with it. Garnish with candied fruits and nuts of your choice.
