How To Cook Focaccia With Mozzarella, Tomatoes And Basil - Recipe

Required products :

  • 300 grams of self-swelling flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons cold pressed olive oil
  • 150 milliliters of warm water
  • 100 grams of mozzarella, sliced
  • 2 tomatoes, cut into slices
  • 5-6 leaves of fresh basil, chopped in bulk

Method of preparation :

  • Preheat the oven to 200 degrees and grease a round baking dish with a diameter of 24 centimeters.
  • In a large bowl, combine the flour, salt, olive oil and water.
  • Stir with a wooden spoon, then knead a soft and elastic dough.
  • Divide it into two equal parts and roll them into a circle about 0.5 millimeters thick.
  • Place the first part in the prepared form and distribute the tomato slices. Season with a little salt.
  • Spread the mozzarella, sprinkle with fresh basil and cover with the second half of the dough. Seal the ends with your fingers.
  • Spread with olive oil, lightly salt and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  • Allow the focaccia to cool briefly before cutting and serving.
