Required products :

  • 8 sausages of your choice / pork, beef or chicken /
  • 8 wooden skewers / or chopsticks /
  • 3/4 tea cup flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons corn flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1/4 tea cup of pickle juice or pickles

Method of preparation :

  • Bake the sausages in a preheated oven to 200 degrees, turning them periodically.
  • Take them out of the oven and place a wooden skewer at the end of each.
  • Pour 1/4 of the flour into a plate, roll the sausages and set aside.
  • In a bowl, mix the remaining flour with the cornflour, baking powder, baking soda, sugar, paprika, eggs, buttermilk and pickle juice. Stir until smooth.
  • Heat the oil in a large pan over medium heat, keeping in mind that it should be 7-8 centimeters deep.
  • Dip each sausage in the breadcrumbs and fry in hot oil for about 1-2 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  • Serve the homemade corn dog with your favorite sauce.
