How To Cook Homemade Pie With Pears, Walnuts And Orange Syrup - Recipe

Required products :

For the oil crust :

  • 1 1/3 tea cups flour
  • 1/3 tea cup brown sugar
  • 2/3 tea cup softened butter

For orange syrup :

  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon orange juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon water

For garnish :

  • 90 grams of cream cheese
  • 4-5 medium-sized pears, cut into slices
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Method of preparation :

  • Preheat the oven to 200 degrees and grease a 30 cm round pan with oil.
  • In a medium bowl, mix the flour and brown sugar.
  • Add the butter and stir with a fork until oil crumbs form.
  • Pour the mixture into the prepared pan and press with your palms to the bottom and walls.
  • Bake for 10-15 minutes until golden brown.
  • Mix the sugar, cornstarch and salt in a saucepan.
  • Gradually add the orange juice and water and heat over medium heat until the mixture boils. Stir constantly.
  • Cook for 1 minute and remove from the heat.
  • Whip the cream cheese until smooth and pour it over the cooled butter base.
  • Arrange the pears on top, sprinkle with walnuts and pour over the orange syrup.
  • Refrigerate the pie for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight, before slicing and serving.
