Dried cherries are a delicious high-calorie product. It can be used to decorate desserts, added to yeast and cake dough. Dried cherries can be served as natural delicious sweets.

Store dried cherries in a cool, dark place. For example, an attic can serve as such a place. Place dried cherries in glass jars and close tightly with nylon lids. Use as needed.

Ingredients:
  • Water
  • Citric acid
  • Sugar
  • Sweet cherry

  • Colander
  • Dryer for vegetables and fruits

How to dry cherries step by step instructions with photos

Step 1

 

To dry the berries, we need fresh cherries (1 kg), 150 grams of sugar, citric acid (0.3 tsp), water (3 liters), a colander, a vegetable dryer.

Step 2

 

Wash the cherries well. Shake off moisture.

Step 3

 

Peel off the stalks, remove the seeds and spoiled berries.

Step 4

 

Cover the cherries with sugar, add citric acid. Mix. Leave for 1 hour.

Step 5

 

Place bowl with cherries in a water bath. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved. The purpose of this operation is to “pull out” the moisture from the cherry to the maximum and saturate it with sugar.

Step 6

 

Drain the cherries in a colander and let the juice drain as much as possible.

Step 7

 

Arrange the prepared berries on the drying racks.

Step 8

 

Dry for 7-8 hours. Dried cherries should be similar in texture to raisins.
