How to freeze cucumbers for the winter

Cucumbers are a very popular vegetable among housewives. If a family grows cucumbers on their plot, they know how the moment comes when the cucumbers are already fermented, pickled, salads are cooked, and the cucumbers are still bearing and fruiting. And now the question arises: “Is it possible to freeze some of the cucumbers?” Indeed, in winter, they were oh, as it were, useful for preparing okroshka, pickle, sandwiches, cucumber sauce with sour cream and garlic, for decorating dishes.

And although cucumbers are sold all year round in supermarkets, their taste and aroma only very vaguely resembles the taste of homemade cucumbers from the garden. I do not advise freezing whole cucumbers - after defrosting they become too watery and it is very difficult to work with them further.

Freeze cucumbers in the form already prepared for the dish: circles, cubes, grated. Defrost cucumbers slowly on the bottom shelf of the refrigerator. For okroshka and pickle, cucumbers can not be thawed, but added to the dish in frozen form.
