And now the question arises: “Is it possible to freeze some of the cucumbers?” Indeed, in winter, they were oh, as it were, useful for preparing okroshka, pickle, sandwiches, cucumber sauce with sour cream and garlic, for decorating dishes.
And although cucumbers are sold all year round in supermarkets, their taste and aroma only very vaguely resembles the taste of homemade cucumbers from the garden. I do not advise freezing whole cucumbers - after defrosting they become too watery and it is very difficult to work with them further.
Freeze cucumbers in the form already prepared for the dish: circles, cubes, grated. Defrost cucumbers slowly on the bottom shelf of the refrigerator. For okroshka and pickle, cucumbers can not be thawed, but added to the dish in frozen form.
Recipes with cucumber
Step 1
For work, we need cucumbers, a kitchen board, a knife, freezer bags, a kitchen towel.
Step 2
Wash and dry cucumbers.
Step 3
Cut off the ends. Peel the cucumbers if desired.
Step 4
Cut into small or medium cubes.
Step 5
Divide cucumbers into freezer bags. Form packages in such a way that you use the contents of the package at one time. Such cucumbers are suitable for making okroshka, hodgepodge, salads with sour cream and cottage cheese.
