Parsnip is added to the first and second courses so that it gives them a special taste and aroma. Parsnips are also used for pickling vegetables. A pleasant, sweetish spicy taste and persistent aroma make parsnips something like celery and parsley at the same time. It makes excellent mashed potatoes, sauces, it is added grated to salads.
But this root crop is stored for a fairly short time, so the housewives try to prepare parsnips for future use in time: dry or freeze, so that later at any convenient time you can add it to your favorite dishes. Our advice will help you understand the question of how to freeze parsnips.
Recipes with parsnips
Step 1
For work, we need parsnips, a knife, a cutting board, a saucepan, freezer bags.
Step 2
Rinse the parsnips and cut off the upper part - the place of attachment of the stems.
Step 3
Boil water in a saucepan and put the prepared parsnips into it for 3 minutes.
Step 4
Take out the parsnips, cool in ice water and remove the skin (it will be easily removed after blanching).
Step 5
Cut parsnips into small cubes.
Step 6
Arrange the prepared parsnips in portions in freezer bags (in 1-2 layers of cubes). Send to the freezer for storage.
