Very often it happens that when preparing jams, jams, compotes and any preservation, we, pouring a boiling product into a jar, twist the jars very tightly with iron screw lids. At the same time, each housewife is worried that the lid tightly adheres to the jar and does not let air through, and therefore reinsures herself with efforts when twisting the jar.
In this situation, it should be remembered that when the preservation cools, the lid will be pulled in very strongly. When you want to open such a cover, sometimes you will not be able to do it, no matter how hard you try. How to proceed in such a case?
It turns out that it is very easy to open such a jar without much effort and even without a bottle opener. To do this, it is enough to heat the cover, and then it will again be easily unscrewed. Check out some tips to help you open a tightly sealed jar of any kind of preservation.
Recipes with water
Step 1
For work, we need a jar with a blank, a twisted lid, a saucepan, water, a knife, a kitchen towel.
Step 2
Pour a little water into the pan (it should reach the neck of the jar). Place the lid down in the jar. Heat water to 55-60°C.
Step 3
Take out the jar, wipe it with a towel. Using a towel placed on the lid of the jar, twist the lid with force, counterclockwise. She should open up.
Step 4
If you still don't succeed, pry the lid lightly with a knife, placing it between the lid and the neck of the jar. Air will enter the jar and the lid will then open easily.
Step 5
In the most difficult cases, when the metal lid is rusted or jam got under it during seaming, you will have to pierce the lid with a knife from above. This will allow air to enter the jar and you can open the lid.
Step 6
The lid is open!
