The thought of certain foods that remind us of the happy days of our childhood or a pleasant family vacation when we are not feeling well for some reason affects us in a positive way.
Foods we like, even if they are harmful to our line because of the many calories they contain, can be good for our mental and emotional state, researchers say.
Scientists have found that the thought of mashed potatoes or favorite chocolate temptations, for example, help to overcome loneliness.
It is believed that the choice of certain foods, when we do not feel well for some reason, can affect us in a positive way, especially if they remind us of the happy days of childhood or a pleasant family vacation.
Remembering such moments raises the mood and dispels the feeling of loneliness.
Researchers from the United States, in order to evoke a feeling of loneliness in a group of volunteers, provoke a conflict situation with a person close to them.
The study participants then described their favorite foods. Those from the control group get acquainted with new dishes for them. Finally, everyone answers questions about their feelings of loneliness.
It turns out that people who feel confident in the relationship with the person from the stimulation, are "saved" from the feeling of loneliness with the thought of a favorite dish, the findings of the study are clear.
