Adenoids are called pathological changes of the nasopharyngeal tonsil. The problem is also known as an inflamed third tonsil . It is characterized by nasal breathing difficulties, snoring, hearing loss, oxygen starvation of the brain and other disorders.

As a prophylaxis, doctors advise to do regular rinsing of the nasopharynx with sea water. Of course, it should not be obtained directly from the sea, because it poses a risk of infection with dangerous substances and microorganisms that could easily enter the brain through the maxillary sinuses and lead to severe consequences and even death. In addition, the high concentration of salt in the water taken directly from the sea is able to irritate the olfactory receptors of the nose, respectively, to burn.

The best preparations are those that have undergone appropriate sterilization.

With regard to nutrition, the patient must adhere to a rational one. This means:
  • to eat more raw vegetables (grated with a fine grater) or stewed (carrots, cabbage, celery, broccoli, cauliflower, potatoes, onions, leafy vegetables);
  • to increase the intake of non-sour seasonal fruits (bananas, pears, apples, apricots, etc.);
  • dried fruits, as well as decoctions and compotes of them should also be included in the menu;
  • freshly squeezed juices;
  • slimy porridge must be consumed (oat, barley, wheat);
  • Yogurt products (kefir, sour cream, etc.), as well as nuts, help to obtain the necessary amounts of plant and animal amino acids, calcium, B vitamins.

 

Dangerous and harmful foods in adenoids

Exclude from the menu:
  • confectionery;
  • too salty dishes;
  • products that could cause an allergic reaction (strawberries, tomatoes, egg yolk, seafood, citrus fruits, honey, chocolate, products containing artificial colors and flavors, etc.).

An allergic attack can cause unwanted swelling of the throat and palate.

Three or four days after surgical removal of the problem, it is necessary to exclude from the menu hot and solid foods that would irritate the damaged mucosa. Eat pureed soups, meat and vegetable porridges. Drink more fluids (compote, still mineral water, broths).
