Osteochondrosis Of The Spine

People suffering from osteochondrosis of the spine should eat well and get fats, proteins and carbohydrates from food.

Proper nutrition is a guarantee of good health. It is through food that our body obtains essential proteins, fats and carbohydrates, vitamins and minerals. The menu is extremely important during illness. Thanks to food, it is possible to recover faster and significantly reduce the side effects of drugs. People suffering from osteochondrosis of the spine should take into account some recommendations when compiling their menu.

Nutrition should be complete and varied

It needs to fully provide the body with the necessary proteins, fats and carbohydrates. All nutrients should come from products of animal or plant origin. In osteochondrosis it is recommended that the menu contains: 80-90 g of protein, 80 g of fat (of which vegetable should be not less than 30 g), 300-400 g of carbohydrates (digestible should be limited), energy value - 2,500 -2 600 kcal.

Food should be taken in small portions

It is best to eat 6 times a day: first breakfast - 7-8 am, second - around 11 am, lunch at 2 pm, afternoon breakfast at 5 pm, dinner at 7 pm, and before bedtime is nice to drink a glass of kefir, you can eat some prunes or apples.

Salts that are able to accumulate in our body, especially in the bones and spine, cause great harm to the body.

To avoid this, you should consume less salt, but also limit cooked food, because it facilitates their deposition. Eat as many raw fruits and vegetables as possible: they contain oxalic acid, which dissolves the accumulated salts. Apples and apple juice are especially useful in osteochondrosis.

The spine needs vitamins, namely: A, B, C and D.

Sources of vitamin A are carrots, pumpkin, liver; B vitamins are found primarily in chicken eggs, seafood, legumes, bananas. They are rich in vitamin C : rose hips, blackcurrants, apples, potatoes, plums, peppers. The source of vitamin D is the sun's rays. Sunbathing helps to make it. In addition, a large amount of it is contained in eggs, butter, fatty fish, milk.

Chondroprotectors

Chondoprotectors are special substances that you must take during the course of the disease in its various stages and for different parts of the spine. These substances strengthen and restore bone and cartilage tissues. There is a large amount of them in the jelly meat, broths of bones and cartilage, nutritious soups.

Limit the use of sugar

Replace sugar with honey, jam or marmalade. For dessert you can eat jellies and dried fruits.

The spine needs calcium

To provide this trace element to the body, eat hard cheese, cottage cheese, milk. Consume foods rich in phosphorus and magnesium, fish yadk and bran, sunflower seeds, cheese, spinach , cucumbers. You will get manganese, including in your menu: seaweed, bananas, onions, potatoes and kidneys.

In case of exacerbation of the disease, take as many useful nutrients as possible

When the disease is in a period of exacerbation, get more vitamins and eat products rich in calcium, potassium, magnesium, for example: fish, seafood, spinach, legumes, nuts, whole grain bread, milk, cottage cheese, dairy products. You should completely give up alcohol and nicotine during the exacerbation of osteochondrosis. Be sure to use adaptogens, the choice of which is huge in pharmacies (for example: Siberian ginseng, ginseng, Chinese magnolia vine, etc.).

A few more tips:

  • Try to avoid consuming spices, strong teas and coffee.
  • Only grapes and grape juice should be deprived of the fruit.
  • When preparing meat and fish dishes, first boil the meat lightly, then fry it.
  • Vegetable salads seasoned with olive oil are very useful.
  • Eat fish at least once a week.
  • Eat milk and dairy foods daily.

And remember that there is no miracle product that can save you from osteochondrosis . The secret lies in a balanced and rational diet.
