Stroke

In the event of a stroke or if you are at risk, often consume small amounts of high-fiber foods.

Stroke is a disease characterized by impaired cerebral circulation, leading to damage to brain tissue and organ functions.

After a stroke, one has to consider what one eats for the rest of one's life. No compromises should be made in this regard. Such a diet is also recommended for all people who are at risk and are at risk of stroke.

Useful products for stroke:

  • lean meats, boiled poultry, olive oil (safe in that they contain useful fats);
  • oranges, broccoli, lentils, asparagus (they are good for the heart, due to the presence of folic acid, fiber and potassium in their composition);
  • herring, sardines, tuna, salmon (contain fatty acids and phosphorus, which activate the metabolic process in the brain;
  • porridges, skimmed milk products (optimal content of proteins, fats and carbohydrates);
  • cabbage, spinach, beets in combination with sunflower oil or cream (optimize brain biochemistry);
  • blueberries (they contain antioxidants).

Sample menu for stroke

  • Breakfast: warm milk with honey, a little white bread.
  • Breakfast: weak tea, black bread with butter, lettuce.
  • Lunch: vegetable soup with lean beef, mashed potatoes, fruit salad with lemon juice.
  • Afternoon snack: a few tomatoes with rusks (or a toast).
  • Dinner: a little black bread with butter and chopped parsley or dill, yogurt (or kefir).

Dangerous and harmful foods for stroke:

  • fatty and spicy foods (contain sodium, which raises blood sugar and cholesterol levels), fried foods;
  • salt should be limited as much as possible, even if it is completely excluded from the menu (blood pressure rises);
  • marinades, pickles and canned vegetables, mushrooms, pasta, chocolate, coffee, carbonated drinks, sauces prepared on the basis of broths.

The information above is indicative. The most accurate and appropriate diet after a stroke can be compiled only by a doctor who is familiar in detail with the patient's health and possible concomitant diseases. It must be followed strictly.
