A new vaccine against obesity and overweight should be launched after 3 years. The drug also lowers blood pressure, raises "good" cholesterol and can prevent and even treat diabetes.
The vaccine has achieved phenomenal results, helping women and men struggling with their weight for years. A drug called liraglutide is more than twice as good as any product on the market.
It also lowers blood pressure, raises "good" cholesterol and can prevent and even treat diabetes.
The manufacturer is conducting final tests on 5,000 overweight men and women, which are expected to be completed in 2013.
The problem of overweight is becoming more serious and there is an urgent need for measures to deal with it.
Researchers have already tested the product on more than 550 men and women. Some are given daily doses of the new product, while others are given standard pills to treat obesity.
In six months, those taking liraglutide lost more than 2 times the weight of those taking standard pills. With a duration of intake of 18 months, the weight is maintained. While people who take standard pills start gaining weight again.
The vaccine is based on a hormone in the gut that tells the brain it's time to stop eating. The drug is absorbed within minutes.
Nick Finner, an expert in hormones and weight loss, says the vaccine can reduce a variety of expensive and potentially dangerous stomach surgeries, such as gastritis.
