Don't chew gum, drink more water, don't eat large portions ... These are just some of the ways.

Sometimes the reason to button our jeans harder is not that we have gained a few pounds, but we all know what panic occurs especially when summer approaches. The feeling of bloated belly is extremely unpleasant and even annoying. It is most often caused by the retention of gases and water in the body.

1. Drink more water

 
Our body is made up of about 70% water and, although most people believe that reducing fluids will also reduce bloating, this is not the case. 
 
Nutritionist Dr. Marilyn Glenville told the Daily Mail that most people who retain water tend to drink less fluids, thinking it will get rid of the bloating. In reality, however, the exact opposite is happening. 
 
If we limit fluids, our body will try to compensate with the retained ones, only in case of severe dehydration .

2. Carefully choose fruits and vegetables

 
Although all fruits and vegetables are useful, be prudent in your choice.
 
Broccoli, cauliflower and cabbage, for example, can cause bloating and excessive flatulence. In some people, these vegetables are not well processed in the small intestine and are not fully absorbed by the body due to lack of enzymes.

Delicious, but unsuitable fruits for bloating are plums, for example. They contain specific sugars that ferment in the stomach and cause bloating and gas. 
 

3. Limit dairy products


 
Excluding only one dairy product from the menu is able to reduce bloating significantly. 
 
Some people do not produce the enzyme lactase, which is responsible for breaking down lactose and sugar in milk. If this enzyme is missing, milk ferments in the intestines and also leads to gas, bloating and even pain . 
 

4. Avoid chewing gum
