What Foods To Eat If We Overeat Often

In this article, learn more about What Foods To Eat If We Overeat Often. What foods to eat if we overeat often.

We all overeat sometimes. An extra piece of cake (or two) may sound like a great idea now, but bad after half an hour. By consuming too many calories, we overload our body as it tries to fight the damage caused by the harmful free radicals that are produced by digesting food.

"Only when food is broken down, especially rich in fats and carbohydrates, does the body begin to produce free radicals that attack cells and can promote the development of chronic conditions such as heart disease, diabetes and cancer," said R. Prior, a researcher. chemist and nutritionist at a children's nutrition center in Arkansas. This, of course, means that the more food we consume, the more free radicals we produce.

Here's the good news: Research shows that there is a pleasant way to recover from the harms of high-calorie foods and reduce free radicals by consuming foods rich in nutrients. Another way to help your body and reduce the effects of free radicals is to eat fewer calories.

1. Eat fruit

If you eat mostly high-calorie foods, start to include fruits more often in your daily routine. Consumption of antioxidant-rich products, such as berries, grapes, kiwis and cherries, helps to minimize the damage caused by the action of free radicals that occur after eating. Aim to eat fruit throughout the day. Try a fruit smoothie or a wholemeal fruit sandwich for breakfast, a fruit salad or whose pudding or fruit yogurt.

2. Vinegar with food

By taking a tablespoon of vinegar with food or adding it to a salad, you can regulate your blood sugar level after eating large amounts of foods rich in carbohydrates. For most of us, a sharp rise in blood sugar causes an equally sharp drop, which contributes to a feeling of extreme hunger. This rise in sugar is a big problem for people who suffer from diabetes. The disease is characterized by insufficient or no production of the hormone insulin, which is responsible for lowering blood sugar levels, helping it to enter the cell and produce energy. Over time, excess glucose in the blood damages the tissues.

3. Drink wine

It may seem contraindicated to pour a glass of wine, but the antioxidants in red actually help. One glass of the drink can reduce the negative effects of eating high-fat foods by lowering the levels of compounds formed after consumption, which are responsible for the development of heart disease.

Cook with red wine or enjoy a glass of dinner, but remember that moderation is key. Do not force yourself to drink it in the name of health, especially if you have overdosed on food and drink before. However, there are other products that supply antioxidants, such as fruits and vegetables.

4. Add spices to food

Adding spices to food can help reduce the negative effects of overeating. In a 2011 study in The Journal of Nutrition, participants who consumed food flavored with about 2 tablespoons of spices (a mixture of rosemary, oregano, cinnamon, turmeric, black pepper, cloves, garlic powder and paprika) had lower levels of triglycerides and insulin and higher levels of antioxidants after eating high-fat, high-calorie meals than those who ate almost the same food but without spices. Researchers believe that spices can slow down the absorption of fats, and antioxidants can remove harmful radicals formed during overeating.

A low-calorie meal or a day of overeating will not disturb our diet and health. However, neither overeating nor malnutrition should become a habit. It is important that we do not blame ourselves for past elections, especially with regard to food. Strive to eat fresh seasonal fruits every day, drink more water and exercise more often. Go for a walk with friends every day or sign up to practice your favorite sport. Plus, you're already armed with some good free radical control strategies that will help you feel better physically.
