The choice is great, and the information on the labels is often incomprehensible. What are the pros and cons of drinks and what is their daily health norm?
In summer we drink a lot more juices, carbonated drinks, water than in other seasons, and rightly so: the body loses a lot of fluids at high temperatures, which must be replenished. But which of the existing drinks are useful and which should we give up?
What do we need to know about drinks? Of course, how are they useful and how are they harmful? In practice, any drink can have both positive and negative effects on the body. The amount of fluids used per day is also important. If, for example, experts advise to drink up to 2 liters of water a day, then the daily norm of coffee or juice is quite different. What to drink?
Contains iodine, calcium, magnesium, sodium.
Useful properties - the human body consists of 80% water. It is vital for each of us. One cannot live without water. Regular use of clean water normalizes metabolism, digestion, restores the water balance of the body's cells, protects against the effects of free radicals.
Harm: Harmful can be not only water, but contain various impurities. Therefore, the water must be filtered before use.
Norm for the day: up to 2 liters of clean water.
Contains: salts, cations of magnesium, calcium, sodium, a large amount of minerals.
Useful properties . Depending on the peculiarities of the composition, it can have a different effect on the body:
-normalizes the work of the digestive tract,
-removes toxins from the body -restores the
cellular composition
-normalizes metabolism
Carbonated mineral water should be used more sparingly.
Harm: Mineral-saturated water can exacerbate some diseases, such as gastritis.
Norm for the day : a few glasses
These include milk and yogurt drinks such as kefir.
They contain lactic acid beneficial bacteria, calcium, copper, phosphorus, vitamins A, D, B, E, magnesium, sodium.
Useful properties:
-normalize the work of the digestive tract,
-improve the work of the cardiovascular system,
-normalize metabolism , -strengthen the
bone system,
-remove toxins from the body,
-reduce blood pressure,
-have a positive effect on memory,
-normalize sleep.
Harm: whole milk contains a lot of fat.
Norm for the day : 3-5 glasses.
The most common drink for the beginning of the day.
Contains : caffeine, antioxidants, potassium, vitamins P, B, purines, organic acids.
Useful properties: reduces the risk of developing cardiovascular disease, Alzheimer's disease, diabetes, cirrhosis of the liver, protects against blepharospasm / involuntary contraction of the circular muscles of the eyes /, improves memory, thanks to the high content of caffeine invigorates, increases muscle tone, improves mood.
Harm: raises blood pressure / harmful to hypertensives /, raises blood cholesterol levels, increases the risk of miscarriage in pregnant women.
Norm for the day: 2 cups
They contain a large amount of vitamins / A, B, C, K, E /, minerals, citric and tartaric acid. Some types of juices contain sorbitol, biotin, niacin.
Useful properties: normalize the content of vitamins. For example,
orange juice protects against hypertension, grapefruit juice - otological diseases, apple juice prevents the development of brain diseases, and cherry juice contains a large amount of antioxidants.
Harm : due to the sugar content, fruit juices have a bad effect on tooth enamel. Canadian scientists have proven that drugs with fruit juices should not be taken because the effectiveness of the drugs is reduced. Daily intake of fruit juices can increase the risk of diabetes in women by 18%.
Norm for the day : 1 cup.
They are extremely popular among young people. Contains: sugar, citric acid, orthophosphoric acid, carbon dioxide.
Useful properties: reduce appetite.
Harm:
-increase the risk of obesity, the development of diabetes,
-sugar or sweeteners and acids literally corrode tooth enamel, causing caries,
-wash calcium from the bones,
exacerbate diseases of the gastrointestinal tract,
provoke diseases of the muscular system.
Normal for the day : doctors do not recommend the use of carbonated beverages.
