If you are a man and you are looking for masculinity, which foods should you avoid in order not to lower testosterone? If you are a woman, on the contrary - they can help you ...
Testosterone is considered a male sex hormone. It is naturally present in the female body, but in much smaller quantities.
Both decreased testosterone levels in men of reproductive age and increased levels in women are a problem. This hormone is responsible for the accumulation of muscle mass, bone density, hair and affects the reproductive abilities of both sexes, at least.
Physical activity generally helps to increase testosterone levels. However, there are also foods that affect its concentration in the body in one direction or another.
In any case, excessive consumption of pasta deprives the body of the ability to balance hormones and they function properly, which is why such an unbalanced diet in both cases should be avoided.
1. Soy products are generally not a suitable food for the male body - this is not about the small exceptions in which tofu is eaten. Soy contains phytoestrogens, which due to the name are similar to estrogens - female sex hormones.
Scientists suggest that the phytoestrogens contained in soy have a hormonal effect on the body, contributing to an increase in estrogen levels in the body. The data from the research in this direction are still contradictory, as well as the mechanism of their action in the body is sought, but still keep in mind with soy, if you are a man and you are looking for higher potency and pronounced male beauty.
2. Dairy products, although for the most part considered a delicacy and served on the table as appetizers, it turns out, are also not quite suitable food for men. It is believed that the milk from which they are produced still contains natural hormones that negatively affect the testosterone level of the consumer. In addition, on modern farms, animals are often fed soy-containing products.
3. Not only from the point of view of overall health, the consumption of alcohol should be careful and there should be a limit on the quantities consumed . Although small amounts of alcohol have been shown to improve testosterone levels in men, overdosing on it, whether incidental to quantity or frequency, has a long-term effect on its presence in the body. However, women should not be reassured that alcohol does not have such negative effects for them - on the contrary, there is evidence that its increased consumption, on the contrary, increases testosterone!
4. If you love mint because of its aroma or soothing effect and you are a man, consider whether you could not replace it or at least avoid regular use of menthol. For women, especially those suffering from and prone to polycystic ovary syndrome, peppermint oil may be helpful - the results of studies show a decrease in testosterone levels when taking it.
5. Consumption of pasta and confectionery is harmful to men's health - this is more than clear, in addition to the accumulation of excess fat and weight, these foods contribute to the reduction of muscle mass.
6. Not all fats are good for men either. In the first line as contraindications are trans fats , which literally harm the functions of the testicles. Men should also be careful with the amount of omega-6 fatty acids , but they can easily afford foods that contain polyunsaturated omega-3 fats, because they improve their masculinity. Of course, fat advice is also adequate for women's good health.
