Taking resveratrol as a supplement can have positive health benefits.
The study involved 29 volunteers, about 50 years old. The participants are divided into two groups. For a period of 12 weeks, the first group was given 75 milligrams of resveratrol supplements , which is equal to the amount that can be obtained from the consumption of 8 liters of wine.
The second group was given placebo supplements.
The researchers found that there were small improvements in the metabolic processes of the participants taking resveratrol.
They concluded that for better results, the dose of resveratrol supplements should be increased between 150 mg and 2000 mg.
There are still no data on the positive effects of taking high doses of resveratrol, the researchers explain. According to them, resveratrol supplements can improve metabolism and slow the progression of various chronic diseases in the body with impaired metabolism.
