For Healthy Bones, Eat Green Beans

Vitamin K, which is contained in green beans, improves the absorption of calcium in the body.

Green beans belong to a group of vegetables that can fight the carcinogenic effects of heterocyclic amines - natural toxic substances in food products that result from roasting meat at high temperatures.

This quality is due to the high amount of chlorophyll it contains. Green beans can also be extremely beneficial for bone health .

Low levels of vitamin K in the body are associated with an increased risk of bone fractures. However, adequate intake of this important vitamin improves overall bone health. It has the property of a modifier of bone matrix proteins, and also improves the absorption of calcium and reduces its urinary excretion.

Green beans can be extremely beneficial for bones , as the amount of just one cup provides 14.4 micrograms of vitamin K , which is equivalent to almost 20% of the daily requirement of the vitamin . With the same amount, 4% of the required calcium for the day can be delivered.

It is very important to know, however, that the nutrients that this vegetable contains are not the reason why it is so useful. It has been proven that their isolation and intake in the form of supplements does not have the same beneficial effect on health.
