Regular consumption of fish, fruits and vegetables protects against Alzheimer's disease.

Consumption of fish is helpful in preventing Alzheimer's disease by stopping the contraction of the brain, according to a study by the University of Oregon. 

 
People who regularly take omega-3 fatty acids through food are less likely to lose their brain capacity at a later age. 
 
Blood tests show that participants with high levels of omega-3, obtained from the consumption of oily fish, fruits and vegetables , vitamins, perform better on cognitive tests than those with a less healthy diet.
 
According to the results of brain scans, those with the highest levels of vitamin D, omega-3 and vitamins B, C and E also have significantly higher brain volume.
 
People who eat more pastries, red meat and fried foods and have higher levels of trans fats show the worst research results and have less brain tissue, US researchers explain.
 
To keep brain health longer, experts recommend following a balanced and healthy diet , quitting smoking , regular physical activity , and regulating blood pressure and cholesterol . 
 
The results are published in the journal Neurology .
