Required products :

  • 1 teaspoon mashed potatoes
  • 2 eggs, beaten with a fork
  • 1/2 teaspoon butter at room temperature
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1/2 teaspoon warm water
  • 5 teaspoons flour

Method of preparation :

  • In a large bowl, combine the mashed potatoes, eggs and butter.
  • Add sugar, salt, yeast and warm water and stir.
  • Add the flour and knead a smooth and elastic dough.
  • Transfer to a greased bowl, cover with plastic wrap and leave to rise for 1-2 hours until it doubles in size.
  • Remove it on a lightly floured surface and knead briefly to release air bubbles.
  • Divide the dough into two equal parts and shape the loaves.
  • Put them in two greased forms with approximate dimensions of 20/10/5 centimeters.
  • Cover and leave to rise for 30-40 minutes until doubled.
  • Bake in a preheated 180 degree oven for about 40 minutes. It should sound hollow when you tap it on top.
  • Remove the potato bread from the pan and let it cool for at least 15 minutes.
  • Cut, serve and enjoy.
