Required products :

  • 1 kg of shrimp, cleaned
  • 1/4 tea cup vegetable oil
  • 1 piece of ginger, about 2 centimeters, peeled and finely chopped
  • 4 large garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 4 tablespoons sugar

For the marinade :

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt kosher
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 4 teaspoons water

Method of preparation :

 

  • In a large bowl, combine salt, sugar, chili powder and water.
  • Stir well until the sugar and salt are completely dissolved.
  • Add the shrimp and let them marinate at room temperature for 20 minutes.
  • Heat the oil in a large non-stick skillet over medium heat.
  • Add the ginger and garlic and cook, stirring constantly, for 1 minute.
  • Sprinkle with sugar and continue cooking for another 1-2 minutes.
  • Drain the shrimp in a colander and carefully transfer them to the pan.
  • Increase the heat to medium and stir constantly for 3-4 minutes.
  • Serve the ginger shrimp warm, garnished with rice or anything else to taste.
