Wholemeal spaghetti with sprouts  is a quick and easy dish, very suitable for a family dinner or lunch. It is prepared without much effort and is healthy. Aromatic, very tasty and filling. Use einkorn spaghetti  - they not only have a very pleasant nutty taste, but also provide useful nutrients to the body: protein, fiber and vitamins.

Broccoli sprouts have a radish-like taste. Adding them to the recipe will provide many health benefits.

Necessary products for the preparation of spicy spaghetti:

  • 3 tablespoons olive oil + more to serve
  • 2 onions, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 2 hot peppers, chopped
  • 350 grams of wholemeal spaghetti (einkorn or other)
  • a handful of broccoli sprouts (or 300 grams of broccoli)
  • 140-160 grams of sliced ​​pancetta
Add optionally:
  • 2 slices wholemeal bread, cut into cubes
  • 100 grams of goat cheese

How to prepare spaghetti with broccoli sprouts:

  • Fry in 2 tablespoons olive oil, garlic and some hot peppers until soft, season to taste. 
  • Boil the spaghetti following the instructions on the package. Add the broccoli (if using) 5 minutes before removing the pasta from the heat.
  • Fry the pancetta (or other meat) in the remaining olive oil until crispy. Add the bread cubes, season and fry until nicely golden brown.
  • Drain the pasta and broccoli, removing a few tablespoons of the liquid in which you cooked them.
  • Pour the spaghetti over the fried vegetables and add some of the separated liquid. Season with salt, pepper and spices to taste. Add the croutons, pancetta and the remaining chopped hot pepper.
  • Garnish with fresh broccoli sprouts and goat cheese if desired.
  • Drizzle with a little olive oil and serve.

Advices:

  • If you do not have einkorn spaghetti, you can replace them with whole grains or plain wheat.
  • Instead of pancetta, put slices of bacon or other meat to your liking.
  • People who have problems consuming dairy products can remove goat cheese from the recipe. If you just don't like goat cheese, replace it with cow's milk or something.
