Is it possible to freeze dumplings

Vareniki is one of the favorite dishes of many. Both adults and children like them. So nice to eat hot homemade dumplings with sour cream. But it takes a long time to cook dumplings, so housewives very often cook a large number of dumplings at a time and freeze them in portions so that they can be enjoyed at any time.

After all, it is very convenient: throw dumplings into boiled water, boil for a few minutes and a delicious dinner is ready. But you should freeze the dumplings in such a way that as a result they do not turn into a sticky lump of dough and filling.

It is best to freeze dumplings in portions - so that this portion is enough for the family at one time. Portion of dumplings will depend on the size of your family. Often dumplings are frozen in portions of 500 grams. When freezing dumplings, try to squeeze as much air out of the bags as possible.

How to freeze dumplings step by step instructions with photos

Step 1

For freezing, we need dumplings (I have 38 pieces with potatoes and cottage cheese), food bags, a kitchen board.

Step 2

Pull the food bag onto the kitchen board. Put the dumplings on top in one layer so that they do not touch each other. Place the board with dumplings in the freezer for 1.5-2 hours.

Step 3

During this time, the dumplings will freeze and become hard.

Step 4

Unscrew the package stretched on the board so that all the dumplings are inside the package. Tie off, squeezing out as much air as possible. You can put the package with dumplings in an additional food bag and tie it up. Send packages with frozen dumplings for storage in the freezer. Frozen dumplings are ready!
