How To Prepare For Easter: Decorating The House And Painting Eggs

Watercress seeds can be planted 4-5 days before the holiday. But it would be nice to plant a bulbous distillation now - in early spring.

Orthodox Easter in 2018 will be celebrated on April 8, Catholic - on April 1. We suggest now to think about decorating the house and start collecting empty eggs, as well as making blanks with the children. In addition to eggs, keep an egg carton, collect small sticks and twigs, and dry flowers and moss. Watercress seeds can be planted 4-5 days before the holiday. But it would be nice to plant a bulbous distillation now - in early spring.

Easter home decoration

The symbol of Easter is eggs, so decorations with eggs and natural materials will always look stylish and beautiful. To make the scenery shown in the photo, you will need an egg box without a lid, several small bulbs - better than plants: a tulip or hyacinth, moss, gypsophila, empty eggs and any small buds. In addition, eggs can also be used half broken - you can "plant" moss in them, and put flowers in water. Alternate eggs with flowers and moss with bulbs or colored eggs. Fantasize!

We will tell you how to blow an egg for decorations. You will need a washed and dried egg, a long needle 1 mm thick, a syringe. Take the egg in your hand, hold it firmly, but do not squeeze too hard. We will make holes in the center of the blunt and sharp end of the egg. No matter which end you start with, place the sharp end of the needle in the center of the tip of the egg and begin to rotate. Do the same with the other end. The hole in the blunt end needs to be enlarged. To do this, make holes around the existing puncture, forming a flower of dots. Carefully remove the shell with a needle to make a hole out of the flower. Stick the needle inside the egg and pierce the yolk to make it easier to blow it out. Blow into the narrow hole so that the contents of the egg flow out into the bowl through the larger hole. Then, using a syringe, fill the egg with water and blow it out again, the egg must be washed both inside and out. Ready!

By the way, if the process of blowing an egg seems complicated to you, use broken eggs or buy plastic ones at a craft store.

From twine, clothespins, colored paper and cotton wool, you can make a fun garland and decorate windows, walls of the house or hang it across the room.

Make one template out of heavy paper in the shape of a hare. Draw two circles - smaller and larger - using glasses of different diameters, draw ears by hand. Then cut out any number of hares according to the template, using colored cardboard for this. You can cut out white hares and then color them with paints, pencils or felt-tip pens. We glue the cotton tails with glue and fasten the hares by the ears to the rope with clothespins.

An ostrich egg is perfect for this decoration, but a chicken egg will also look great. So, in a white empty egg, make a hole at the sharp end. Gently insert a sprig of gypsophila or another plant there. Take a small saucer in which we will form our decoration. Cut out a hole for the egg on the floral sponge. Insert flowers and plants into the sponge, moisten.

Single pink paper cups can easily turn into wonderful candy bowls with eyes and ears. Glue the paper-cut eyes, muzzle and ears of hares with glue. Fill with sweets, dragees and boldly put on the table.

Watercress sprouts well on cotton pads moistened with water or just cotton wool. Store broken and washed eggs until the end of March. Set them on a "stand" made of plasticine or twisted decorative wire / straw. 4-5 days before Easter, put a piece of cotton wool in the egg and add a teaspoon or two of water. Sprinkle the watercress seeds. You can buy them at any garden supply store or large supermarket. Water periodically as needed. Simple and very beautiful!

To make such cute hares, boxes of any size are suitable, you will also need colored paper, glue, scissors and felt-tip pens. You can build square decorations and arrange them at home, or you can pack gifts for loved ones in hares - it can be a congratulation, wish, sweets or always the right hand cream.

We glue the ears to the box packed in pink, orange or white paper and on the opposite side we draw / glue the eyes, nose, mouth and mustache. The nose can be made convex - glue a button, bead or bean.

Egg coloring

We will start painting boiled eggs when there are a few days left until Easter. But you can make a decoration from empty eggs in advance.

Marble coloring with blue food coloring in the form of the Universe looks interesting. In order to achieve this effect, it is necessary to dilute food coloring in a bowl of water and add a teaspoon of vegetable oil. Do not shake the oil, but gently stir, leaving oil peas. Dip the egg and take it out immediately. Leave until dry. Don't forget to seal the hole with duct tape if you're dyeing an empty egg.

A beautiful marble color is also obtained if the eggs are completely painted in light colors (yellow, orange), let them dry, and then dip in water with dark paint (blue, brown) and oil.

By the way, for those who do not like artificial dyes, we recommend using natural ingredients. Beetroot juice (will give a pink color), red cabbage (blue), violet flowers (purple), carrots and orange (pale yellow), calendula and turmeric (yellow), spinach (green) are great for coloring eggs. In a saucepan, bring water to a boil with a tablespoon of vinegar and natural dye. Turn off and leave for half an hour. Then boil the eggs for at least 15 minutes. You can generally leave the eggs in the broth overnight, the color will be much more intense.

Easter crafts for the little ones

If the crafts described above require some skills and dexterity, then children (and adults) will make chickens from cotton pads on a stick in no time! You will need any stick - be it a wooden skewer, an ice cream stick or just a plastic spoon. Three cotton pads per chicken, a triangle of red paper, a short ribbon, yellow paint, glue and eyes for dolls from a craft store, or a black felt-tip pen.

So, pour water into a saucer and dip the brush in yellow paint. Soak two cotton pads in yellow water and wring out. Ideally, let them dry, of course. Put a stick on the center of the disk, a beak on the side in the middle, grease with PVA liquid glue and cover with a second yellow disk. Cut a white cotton pad in half and glue wings on both sides of the chicken. The eye can be glued or drawn with a felt-tip pen. Tie the base of the chicken with ribbon. Ready! Such a decoration can be stuck in an apple or flowerpot.

And finally - step-by-step instructions for making Easter decorations and holiday packaging in the form of carrots. You can pack sweets in such carrots. During the holiday, it will decorate the table, and at its end it will turn into a wonderful gift-compliment for guests.

We need corrugated paper in two colors - orange and green, a ribbon, a basket or a deep bowl, small sweets, dragees, cookies. Get your scissors ready too. We don't need glue. Be sure to involve the kids in creating the scenery.

Step 1. Cut out small green and orange rectangles from paper. How many carrots you want to make, cut out as many rectangles. Set the size of the carrot yourself - for large sweets you will need larger rectangles. But small carrots look much prettier.

Step 2. Twist the orange rectangle into a bag, fill it with sweets. If you decide to put cookies in, then first put them in a bag or wrap them with parchment paper so that our carrots do not go oily. Scroll over the edges with your fingers. Fold the green rectangle in half and make cuts to the middle, starting from the folded edges. The distance between the notches is about a centimeter.

Step 3. Twist the cut strips with your fingers in different directions, as if twisting a thread before inserting a needle into the eye.

Step 4. Place the "greens" on the protruding tail of the carrot, wrapping it around. Tie with ribbon. With such gifts, you can go to visit to celebrate Easter. On the table as a decoration, carrots also look wonderful. Plant a plush bunny for carrots.

Happy Easter to you and your loved ones!
