Ancient sources speak of the use of whole eggs (with shells) or only the shell in the composition of medicinal mixtures. The Hungarian doctor Kompecher, together with a group of medics and biologists, became interested in the health benefits of eggshell. Studies lasting more than 10 years show that it is an excellent source of calcium, which is easily absorbed by the body.
Calcium deficiency, especially in bones, is known to be one of the most common metabolic disorders. Rickets, irregular tooth growth in children, spinal deformities, decayed teeth, bone fragility in the elderly are observed. Disorder of calcium metabolism is often accompanied by anemia, susceptibility to colds, allergies, cold sores, decreased resistance to radiation. In addition to all this, in women there is muscular atony of the uterus, weak labor contractions and others.
Studies by Hungarian medics show that the eggshell , which consists of 90% calcium carbonate, is easily digested. It contains all the necessary trace elements for the human body: copper, fluorine, iron, manganese, molybdenum, phosphorus, sulfur, zinc, silicon, etc. (a total of 27 elements). The significant amount of silicon and molybdenum in the shell is extremely important, because our daily food is extremely poor in these elements, and they are very necessary for the normal course of biochemical reactions in the body.
The composition of the eggshell coincides strikingly with that of the bones and teeth, in addition it stimulates the hematopoietic function of the bone marrow, which is especially important in conditions of radiation damage.
The inclusion of an eggshell in the diet indicates high therapeutic activity and the absence of any side effects, including bacterial infection. The same cannot be said of duck egg shells, which are often infected and unusable.
Eggshell is especially useful for young children over 1 year, because the processes of bone formation in them are the most intense and require a constant supply of calcium. The addition of the product to baby food has a beneficial effect on rickets and anemia, which develops in parallel with rickets.
The method of application of eggshells is very easy. Eggs are pre-washed with warm water and soap, rinse well. In most cases, the shell does not need special sterilization. When given to young children, it should be put for about 5 minutes in boiling water. The shell of hard-boiled eggs is less active, but on the other hand it is completely ready for consumption, sterilized during cooking. The dosage is from 1.5 g to 3 g depending on age. It is better to crush the shell in a mortar (note that when using a coffee grinder, the product is less active). It is taken with the morning meal (with cottage cheese or porridge). Eggshell powder has been available in pharmacies in the West since 1970.
Diathesis of allergic origin, especially in children, brings a lot of trouble and worries. There is an old recipe with eggshells that can help: take 1 fresh egg, boil it hard, peel it. Carefully remove the layer from the inside. Then dry for 2 hours (but not in direct sunlight or heat). Crush the shell in a porcelain mortar to obtain a powder, but not a very fine powder. This is given to children from 6 months to 1 year, and the amount is minimal - on the tip of a knife; for children from 1 to 3 years - the dose is doubled; for 5 - 7-year-olds - half of the crushed shell. Before giving it to the child, add a few drops of lemon juice powder (the chemical reactions convert the substances in the shell (in particular calcium) into a well-digested form). It is done daily, and the duration is from one to several months. The method is absolutely harmless.
A hen's egg shell , baked to a yellow color and ground to a powder, helps stomach aches. Take once a day before meals for 10 days. According to modern concepts, it has antacid action.
A recipe for stopping diarrhea has been found in old medical books: powdered eggshell soaked in grape wine.
Dried and ground in a coffee grinder (fine powder) egg shell can be used for burns with the presence of bubbles.
Again in old sources there is a recipe for breaking stones in the kidneys and bladder: the shell of an egg is used, from which a chicken has just hatched; grind to a powder and mix with grape wine. Take 10 grams of the drink every day.
