Consumption of soup creates a feeling of fullness in the stomach even before we switch to the caloric main course
In Pennsylvania, an experiment was performed on 60 women and men of normal weight. Lunch was served for five weeks. In four of them, the menu starts with a low-energy home-made vegetable soup, with the second dish coming 15 minutes later. The results show that in the days with its consumption, 135 kcal less is consumed. Even those in cream soups are close.
Compiled in this way, the menu provides both a feeling of satiety and reduced intake of fats and carbohydrates. This is an indisputable advantage in trying to stay in shape. It is convenient to apply both at home and in the restaurant (at least 15 minutes is needed for serving and serving).
Remember, however, that the soup should be light, not greasy or with a lot of added cream. The author of the study, Barbara Rawls, recommended that it provide about 150 kcal for women and 200 kcal for men. Less calories, more volume - this is a formula for a good figure. We get fed up sooner, or we may not even reach for something else. With the rising temperatures, the much-loved tarator is an even more suitable option. It not only distracts our stomach, but also cools us. However, due to its low fat content, soon after consuming it, we get hungry again if we relied only on it. Of course, it's all a matter of metabolism, but it's a convenient way for each of us to control it.
