Drinking two cups of coffee a day can either reduce the risk of breast cancer or delay its onset, depending on the woman's genotype. This conclusion was reached by scientists from Sweden, who discovered a link between coffee and sex hormones in women. According to them, the ingredients of the drink can change the metabolism, as a result of which the levels of steroid hormones change.

Helena Gernstrom studied the eating habits of about 460 women with breast cancer. Genetic research on CYP1A2, a gene that encodes an enzyme that plays a key role in estrogen metabolism, has found several options. On the other hand, 15% of these women had Estrogen Receptor-negative form of cancer - more difficult to treat.
