Ulcers of the stomach and duodenum affect the whole body. Treatment is impossible without following a curative diet.

What is the therapeutic diet for stomach ulcers ?

  • The diet should have increased nutritional value, include sufficient amounts of fats, proteins, carbohydrates, mineral salts and vitamins (mandatory A, C and group B).
  • Food should not irritate the lining of the stomach and duodenum.
  • Eat often, for example every 3-4 hours.
  • It is forbidden to consume very hot or cold food, to keep it at room temperature.
  • The products should not have a strong juice-releasing effect.
  • Portions should not be large.
  • The food should not irritate the lining of the stomach, it is best to prepare it in the form of a puree.
  • Reduce the consumption of table salt to 10-12 g per day.

The main task in the treatment of gastric and duodenal ulcers is the restoration of all processes taking place in the body. This is best done with milk, which is the most useful food for peptic ulcer disease. Milk contains a large amount of substances necessary for humans. If your body does not absorb it well, take it warm and a little, you can add it to tea or milk.

Vegetable fats also help heal ulcers (sunflower oil, olive oil), they should be used on an equal footing with animal fats.

If you follow a healing diet, it is good to take about 3000-3200 kcal - 100-110 g of fat, 100 g of protein, 400-450 g of carbohydrates.

People suffering from peptic ulcer disease can include in their menu:

  • bread and bakery products (white wheat, slightly dried, biscuits, rusks);
  • eggs - soft-boiled or steamed omelet);
  • soups (cereals, vegetables, chicken, dairy);
  • milk and dairy products (milk, cream, creams, cottage cheese, yogurt);
  • meat dishes (beef, beef, chicken, meatballs, steaks, rolls);
  • fish dishes (boiled river fish - perch and all kinds of lean species);
  • vegetables (carrots, beets, potatoes, zucchini, squash);
  • cereals and pasta (semolina, buckwheat, oatmeal, rice, barley; cooked pasta);
  • fats (oil, butter, animal fats);
  • liquids (decoction of rose hips and wheat bran, non-acidic juices from vegetables and berries, non-carbonated mineral water).

If you suffer from a stomach and duodenal ulcer you should exclude from your menu:

  • meat dishes (fatty and fried meats);
  • fish dishes (oily and fried fish);
  • soups (mushroom);
  • fat (sheep fat, beef and pork fat);
  • salty and spicy dishes;
  • sausages;
  • canned food;
  • bread and bakery products (puff pastry, rye bread);
  • alcoholic beverages;
  • ice cream.
