Do we need to take breaks from eating for a few days to feel fresher and lose weight? Experts advise not to do extreme experiments, but simply to practice the so-called unloading days . According to many people, medical fasting has a number of positive effects: a feeling of lightness, release of toxins from the body, weight loss. In fact, this method requires a very fine approach and is used only on prescription and under strict medical supervision. Therefore, unloading days are suitable at home, and if they are done regularly, you will enjoy results after a short time.

What to eat to lose weight?

Unloading days are designed to facilitate the work of the digestive system and the body in general. Everyone should prepare their own menu for these days, taking into account their own taste preferences. The total caloric content should be from 500 to 1000 kcal. and you can divide it into 4 intakes per day.

Here are some options:

1st: 400 grams of cottage cheese with a fat content of not more than 9%, 1 liter of lactic acid drink;

2nd: fruits and vegetables, according to the allowed calories;

3rd (excellent solution for those who do not suffer from extra pounds): 300 grams of fish, meat or poultry (cooked, steamed, but in no case fried) and 400 grams of vegetables prepared in a similar way.

Optimal amount of water

During the whole unloading day you should drink 1 to 1.5 liters of water, but not mineral water. According to some nutritionists, the opinion that water can be taken in unlimited quantities is not correct. Of course, its total volume is not so important because it takes part in the body's metabolic processes and is excreted in the urine. But in this case you need to limit the intake of salt that enters the body with food. Otherwise, the water will be retained, and this will burden the work of the heart. If you don't like unsalted foods, watch the amount of fluids you drink.

How to apply the unloading days?

Those who are overweight can do such days once a week and a half. People suffering from obesity should do this regularly at least once a week, but have a break between these days. In addition, the digestive system needs to rest after the holidays with plenty of food or "unloading" after "loading".

What can we do to avoid side effects?

It's about constipation. Nutritionists explain that unloading days can not be a cause of constipation. But the intestines during this time will not be filled as usual, which means that the release will be less. Those people who are prone to constipation, let them eat vegetables during unloading, so they will get a large amount of cellulose, and it will stimulate the intestines.

Risky alternative

Complete fasting, even if it does not last more than 2 days, has never been tolerated by doctors. The human body will continue to secrete digestive juices out of habit, even when there is no food. This can lead to gastritis, inflammation of the esophagus or an ulcer.
