Which Foods Are Not A Good Choice For Breastfeeding Mothers?

Substances that are not suitable for or liked by the baby can be passed through breast milk.

The mother should also be aware of the foods she should not eat while breastfeeding, as some of their compounds get into her milk and can cause the baby to become unwell.

1. Chocolate

As much as we do not want this sweet temptation should be limited to the menu during breastfeeding, as it can lead to irritability and restless sleep in the baby .
In addition to chocolate, it is desirable to stop consuming other foods and beverages containing caffeine , such as coffee, tea and soft drinks. These products, in addition to arousing the baby, can also cause colic.

2. Citrus and other fruits

Citrus fruits can cause colic . To reduce the unpleasant and painful feeling for the baby, avoid the consumption of oranges , lemons, grapefruit, as well as fruits such as grapes and strawberries. It is advisable not to take during the first 6 months after the birth of the baby by the mother, when he feeds naturally.

3. Vegetables

The consumption of some vegetables by the mother also causes gas in the baby. Avoid eating cabbage, broccoli, onions, green peppers, cauliflower, peas and ripe beans. The infant's gastrointestinal system is not yet developed and does not adequately absorb certain substances, and the gases do not always pass freely - they may accumulate and cause pain and colic.

4. Spicy foods

Some spicy foods and spices create compounds that cause nervousness and anxiety in the baby when breast milk is absorbed. They can also irritate the digestive system.

In addition, they change the taste of breast milk , which can cause the baby to refuse to eat.

Avoid consumption of hot red or black pepper , hot peppers, spicy foods, garlic, ginger, cinnamon.

5. Cow's milk

One of the most common allergies is to cow's milk . It's weird, but babies react to it even if not them, but their mother has consumed it. The result is discomfort , irritation and abdominal pain.
