The alkaline diet is a system of nutrition in which the menu is dominated by fruits, vegetables and almost no products of animal origin. Apart from the high content of vitamins, minerals and other microelements, vegetables and fruits are also characterized by other useful properties. They create an alkaline environment in the body, which significantly strengthens bone tissue. This is because acidic products "wash away" calcium from the bones, and the base neutralizes its action.
This diet is designed to purify and restore the body . Fruits and vegetables must be fresh without being heat-treated. The transition to such a diet should be done gradually, without sudden "jumps". The diet can last a maximum of 4 weeks.
Alkaline foods
- Fruits: grapefruit, raisins, bananas, apples, dried dates, dried apricots, nectarines, oranges, pineapple, blueberries, melons and watermelons;
- Vegetables: carrots, cabbage, cauliflower, celery, broccoli, eggplant, mushrooms, turnips, zucchini. According to some nutritionists, the most alkaline vegetables are: beet leaves, dandelion stalks and baked potatoes. Exceptions are: corn, Brussels sprouts and asparagus.
- Meat products: any lean meat (beef, lamb, beef) can be consumed, it must be very tender. Control your cholesterol levels. Goose and duck are high in fat and cholesterol, so they should be avoided.
- Other alkaline products: millet, bean sprouts, buckwheat, also olive oil, almonds, honey, chestnuts, jam, ice cream, sour cream.
Basic rules of the alkaline diet:
- Eat raw vegetables prepared in the form of salads or other dishes;
- During the diet, your menu should consist of 80% alkaline products and 20% - acidic;
- Cereals should be taken no more often than 3 times a week;
- Fish should be taken no more than 2-3 times a week;
- It is good to eat 1 egg yolk and 1 green vegetable for breakfast;
- During the diet you can consume fresh undried nuts and seeds, green beans and peas, which are rich in plant proteins;
- Olive oil, sunflower oil, soybean oil and peanut oil can be used in food preparation, without any chemical additives;
- The use of meat should be moderate, to choose lean species - beef, veal, lamb, chicken and turkey;
- Do not eat dinner after 6-7 hours and after eating do not drink anything but herbal tea;
- Drink water, fruit juices and herbal teas between meals.
- The proposed diet is rich in fiber and antioxidants. It is aimed at improving health, not weight loss, but practice shows that by adhering to such a regime, the weight also melts.
