The rice and compote diet was developed by English nutritionist Walter Kempner. It is indicated for people with hypertension, liver or bile diseases, kidney failure.

The regime is unloading and somewhat "heavy", as the menu does not contain more than 1200 calories.

The rice-compote diet lasts five days. During this time you can lose 2-3 pounds of weight and cleanse your body of harmful substances. Adhering to such a diet for a long time is risky for health.


The essence of the diet

The daily menu consists of the following products :

  • 1.5 kilograms of fresh fruit or 250 grams of dried;
  • 120 grams of sugar;
  • 50 grams of rice;
  • 1.5 liters of water.

From the rice is boiled porridge, in which no salt and sugar are added, and from the fruits (fresh or dried) and the sugar is boiled compote.

Twice a day (morning and evening) eat rice porridge and drink compote. The fruit drink is divided into 6 intakes, which include portions taken in the morning and evening with rice.

About the menu

  • In the morning after waking up: a glass of compote;
  • Breakfast: half the amount of porridge for the day and a glass of compote;
  • Second breakfast: a glass of compote;
  • Lunch: a glass of compote;
  • Dinner: the second half of the rice and a glass of compote;
  • Before bed: a glass of compote.


The amount of water is not limited, tea, coffee, juices, alcohol and other beverages are not allowed.
