One of the most preferred ways of harvesting blackberries is freezing, as many vitamins and nutrients are lost during the heat treatment of berries. Blackberries can be frozen in the freezer in many ways: whole berries, in sugar syrup, in the form of berry puree with sugar and sprinkled with layers of a little sugar. Depending on where you will later use the frozen blackberries, choose the right way to freeze.
Berries before freezing should be carefully sorted out, removing all debris. You can not pre-wash the blackberries if you are sure that the berries are clean. For freezing at home, it is better to choose intact, strong, elastic berries.
Recipes with fresh blackberry ingredient
Step 1
For work, we need blackberries - 1 kg, sugar - 100 grams, a colander, plastic containers for freezing.
Step 2
Sort the blackberries, removing debris and insects. If there is such a need, rinse the berries and dry.
Step 3
Place a layer of prepared blackberries on the bottom of a plastic freezer container and sprinkle some sugar on top.
Step 4
Fill the entire container in the same way. Close the lid. Send the container for 1 hour in the refrigerator, and then - for storage in the freezer. Frozen blackberries are ready!
