Escherichia coli is a group of intestinal diseases caused by the bacterium Escherichia coli.

To support the treatment, it is necessary to adhere to a curative diet №4, which is prescribed for intestinal diseases of acute or chronic nature, also for the prevention of the gastrointestinal tract. Such ailments are accompanied by severe diarrhea.

Useful foods for Escherichia coli:

  • drinks: tea (without milk), cocoa (can with milk), decoctions of rose hips or wheat bran, fruit juices (it is good to dilute with boiled water or weak tea);
  • fresh bread and pastries, rusks of white flour, biscuits, rolls;
  • low-fat dairy and sour milk products;
  • soups prepared with non-fat meat broth;
  • boiled or steamed meat and fish (lean species), which must then be ground;
  • cooked or stewed vegetables;
  • 1 egg per day (can be soft-boiled, in the form of an omelet or simply as an addition to dishes);
  • fats: olive oil, sunflower oil, melted butter, but not more than 5 grams per dish;
  • porridges: rice, wheat, oats, pasta;
  • fruit mousses, jellies, purees, jams, pickles, marmalades, but in small quantities.

While sticking to the diet, limit the intake of sugar and sweets as much as possible.

Dangerous and harmful foods in Escherichia coli:

  • fatty meats and fish;
  • canned food and sausages;
  • smoked products, pickles, marinades;
  • mushrooms;
  • legumes, raw fruits and vegetables;
  • spices (horseradish, mustard, black pepper, cinnamon, cloves);
  • alcoholic and carbonated beverages;
  • freshly baked pasta and butter dough products;
  • chocolate, coffee with milk, ice cream, confectionery with various creams as a filling.

All these products irritate the gastric mucosa and are difficult to process.
