Presence Of Protein Responsible For Diabetes

High concentrations of the protein AngptL2 lead to the development of diabetes, say Japanese scientists.

High concentrations of the protein AngptL2 lead to the development of diabetes, say Japanese scientists. They found the protein in the blood of those affected by diabetes, obesity and atherosclerosis.
Said protein leads to an increase in leukocytes. Experiments have shown that even overeating and eating fatty foods do not lead to obesity and blood sugar levels remain normal when this protein is not available.
The discovery by Japanese scientists led by Prof. Yuiti Oike of Kumamoto Prefecture University will help improve the treatment of diabetes and its early detection.
