Scarsdale diet for weight loss of 8 kg for two weeks, which is based on high protein intake and low fat and carbohydrate intake - First stage.

The diet was first developed and described by cardiologist Herman Tarnower in the 1970s in the United States. It is a strict regimen based on high protein intake and low fat and carbohydrate content.

Providing up to a maximum of 1000 calories a day, the diet helps to quickly regulate body weight, promoting the burning of excess fat. The Scardale regime takes place in two main phases - shocking and supportive.

The first lasts 14 days and no more, during which all recommendations must be followed strictly and accurately to achieve maximum results. The second phase takes place after the two-week regimen and consists of a properly balanced diet.

The diet is based on some basic rules, the observance of which guarantees success:

  • mandatory breakfast, lunch and dinner;
  • mandatory daily intake of 2 liters of water;
  • raw carrots or celery are allowed for consumption between main meals;
  • drinks such as coffee, tea, skim milk, but without sugar are allowed;
  • light exercise is recommended;
  • sugar, fried foods, cooked foods and confectionery are prohibited;
  • alcohol consumption is prohibited;
  • all sweetened and carbonated drinks are prohibited;
  • the consumption of butter, margarine or oil is prohibited;
  • spices, salt and spicy foods are prohibited.

Day one

Breakfast: fruit or grapefruit juice, a slice of rusk or coffee, tea without sugar

Lunch: grilled ham or other type of sausage with stewed tomatoes, a cup of tea without sugar

Dinner: grilled fish with vegetable salad

Day two

Breakfast: fruit or grapefruit juice, a slice of rusk or coffee, tea without sugar

Lunch: grilled tuna and seasonal fruits

Dinner: vegetable salad of choice and omelet

Day three

Breakfast: fruit or grapefruit juice, a slice of rusk or coffee, tea without sugar

Lunch: fruit salad

Dinner: grilled beef steak with tomatoes, celery and cucumber

Day four

 Breakfast: fruit or grapefruit juice, a slice of rusk or coffee, tea without sugar

Lunch: roasted chicken with spinach or green beans

Dinner: fruit salad and a glass of low-fat yogurt

Day five

Breakfast: fruit or grapefruit juice, a slice of rusk or coffee, tea without sugar

Lunch: grilled meat (chicken, turkey)

Dinner: grilled or baked fish or seafood

Day six

Breakfast: fruit or grapefruit juice, a slice of rusk or coffee, tea without sugar

Lunch: a plate of cheese about 100 grams and a vegetable salad

Dinner: fruit salad and a glass of low-fat yogurt

Day seven

Breakfast: fruit or grapefruit juice, a slice of rusk or coffee, tea without sugar

Lunch: roast lamb with tomatoes, lettuce, a cup of coffee or tea

Dinner: omelet, cottage cheese or roasted zucchini, a cup of tea or coffee without sugar

 

The regimen is repeated for another week, after which we move on to the second phase of the diet plan, which includes maintaining weight. It is important to mention that the diet is not suitable for pregnant women, sensitive people and adolescents.

The first stage of the diet has a motivating effect, in order to quickly get rid of extra pounds. The second is applied to maintain the desired weight, balancing the diet with food and avoiding the opposite effect.
