Now it is important to choose healthy food products. Here is an example of what we can follow?
In conditions of emergency measures, when our outings are reduced and we have to avoid social contacts, we know that visiting the store can become a problem.
At least, when we get to the stands, let's know in advance which products are worth putting in the basket. Keep in mind that this regime has a very positive side - it will allow us to regulate all those processes with which we fail in the physically dynamic daily life. For example, we will finally be able to regulate our stomach.
What do we need to know that is most important to stick to in our diet? Now the priority is the valuable nutritional qualities such as the content of useful nutrients. In this way we will successfully and naturally support our body and immunity from within.
When we have to choose products for a longer period, it is quite normal to focus on packaged foods such as rice, beans, lentils, pasta and frozen vegetables. We can buy bread, meat, fresh fruits and vegetables in larger quantities than before.
Why is it good to focus on legumes? In addition to being long-lasting, these foods are extremely beneficial with the substances they contain. They are an ideal source of plant proteins and fiber . Chickpeas and lentils can be added to salads, pasta, soups.
Another product that makes sense to take is canned fish. Boxes of tuna or salmon fill us with heart-healthy omega-3 fatty acids. What better than foods that fight the emerging inflammatory processes in the body during its functioning.
It is not traditional for Bulgarians to consume nut oils , but peanuts are also a good source of healthy fats and proteins, as long as they do not suffer from allergies. Traditional sunflower seed oil is the best cooking fat. Maybe it's time to introduce sesame tahini, which is also rich in calcium.
Now is the time when rushing is no excuse for not being able to choose healthy food. First, the "trampling" with white bread can stop and all refined flours can be replaced with valuable whole grains . If we haven't cooked quinoa, now is the time; if we frowned at brown rice, we can now choose our brand.
You can always prepare a full breakfast at home and replace your favorite muffins and Easter cakes with oatmeal , which can be garnished with dried fruit or cheese. Let's not forget the buckwheat . This is a typical, but forgotten, Bulgarian food.
When choosing canned vegetables, such as tomatoes, it is good to look at the sugar label. This also applies to lutenitsa, which is a wonderful Bulgarian product, constantly present on our table.
Before we finish this category of products - do not forget to go through the windows and get a nice Bulgarian cheese and eggs . Here, we added some more calcium, vitamin D and other useful proteins and fats to our menu.
Nuts are valuable because of the antioxidants, minerals and fiber they contain, and most of all you eat little. You can take sunflower and pumpkin seeds, almonds, cashews, peanuts, walnuts and more. Popcorn also benefits the body - they are rich in fiber, with which we can regulate our stomach.
One of our tasks related to nutrition and maintaining good health and immunity is to provide enough fluids to our body. When we are locked in one place, we usually forget the water. Not right now. We can safely drink the required 2 ½ liters per day without worrying about the problem.
Milk is also a food that should not be missed. Through milk we can take part of the vitamin D and calcium we need. However, choose the more useful and reliable options. Yogurt with BDS sign is the healthier choice. Sugar-free fruit milk is the better option. Milk is also valuable because it hydrates us.
When we go to the refrigerators with frozen food , this time let's not miss the strawberries, berries, broccoli, spinach, cauliflower, green beans and more. All of them can give us valuable vitamins and minerals, not so much as fresh, but in any case more than a slice of pizza. In addition, with them we can add a new taste or get a new dish.
What else do you think of? Chocolate ? Yes, maybe, but a little, of the highest quality - we need a host in this crisis!
