Which Foods Are Not Recommended After A Workout?

After training, the products consumed are absorbed by the body in a different way than other meals during the day.

Improper nutrition after a workout can destroy its benefits.

After active physical activity, the consumed products are absorbed by the body in a different way than other meals during the day, experts explain.

According to them, the perfect option is to eat breakfast after a workout, which provides complex carbohydrates, water and protein.

Products to be avoided and their equivalents:

Cheese

The high content of saturated fat and salt in the cheese can sabotage the hard work in the gym.

Processed meats
It is advisable to avoid eating sausage sandwiches. This combination slows down digestion, which means the accumulation of excess fat. Replace salami, bacon and sausages with boiled chicken.

Cereals
They are useful only when the sugar content is minimized. Muesli with fruits and nuts is a good option. It is advisable to avoid refined cereals.

Bread
Starch in bread when it enters the body turns very quickly into sugar, and this is not what you need after a workout. Replace white bread with wholemeal.

Fruit drinks
Despite the strong thirst that may occur after a workout, it is advisable to avoid fruit drinks as they are high in sugar. Replace them with water or herbal tea.

Raw vegetables
They are rich in nutrients, but are not enough to supply the necessary energy to the muscles after a hard workout. Nutritionists recommend that their consumption be combined with high-protein supplements such as hummus or yogurt.

Eggs
Eggs are a good post-workout breakfast because they are rich in protein and choline - ingredients good for the heart. But they should not be eaten fried. It is recommended to consume boiled eggs after training.
