E 162 is susceptible to destruction by sunlight, heat and oxygen. It is used for coloring frozen and dried products whose shelf life is not long.

Use

Betanine is used in the coloring of cereals, vegetables cooked in vinegar, brine or oil, with the exception of olives. It is also widely used in confectionery: jellies, jam, etc., in which there are processed fruits. It is also found in sausages, frankfurters, pâtés, cooked sausages and meat, smoked sausages and sausages and much more.
